Dump valve
The utilization of hydraulic power is indispensable for underground mining operations.
Heavy loads can thus be lifted and/or supported easily and effectively. However, the pressure in the hydraulic system entails risks which should never be underestimated.
Leaking or loose hydraulic connections can result in serious injuries to people and heavy damage to machinery.
In line with its constant drive to make working place conditions easier and safer for the miners Tiefenbach Control Systems has developed the dump valve.

The dump valve is a 3/2-way valve operated by a pilot valve which also is a 3/2-way device. The pilot valve has been designed to be self-locking. In the event of a power failure or if an emergency stop switch is operated it automatically goes into locked position. The dump valve then isolates the high-pressure line leading into the longwall face. It furthermore establishes a connection between the face side and the return line which relieves the face line.
In the event of a hazardous situation arising the complete longwall face can thus depressurized quickly and reliably by just one single valve.
